What is a Charge Off?:
When a charge off appears on your credit report, it's because a creditor has "written off" the debt as a loss, ad they're doing the only thing they can: punishing your credit score.
Of course, the creditor will try to reclaim the debt any way they can, but once the charge off is on your report, it's going to stay on for 7 years, even if you pay it off. There is only one way to get the charge off removed from your credit report: dispute the charge off with the credit bureaus that are reporting it.
An example of a charge off on a credit report:
Disputing a charge off is your right under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. You can do this by yourself, or by using a credit restoration service, like Lexington Law. The credit bureaus don't like doing work they don't profit from, so they've kept on top of stall tactics that keep most consumers from continuing with a dispute if they hit a snag. In the battle to remove charge offs, Lexington Law has developed many strategies from their vast years of experience to overcome these tactics.
Once you remove a charge off, your credit score will go up drastically (as much as 125 points). Of course, the amount varies based on where you credit score currently is, and what other parts of your score are hurting.

How Removing Charge Offs Saves You Gobs of Money:
Credit is a part of our life, like it or not. And the credit companies are doing just fine without you giving them more money than you have to. An unfair
charge off will make your credit score plunge, and your interest rates sky rocket. If you don't think investing in your credit is worth it,

They love Lexington Law:

"I am more than happy with what you have been able to accomplish. When I started this, my credit score was 480 and I had several inaccurate items on my report
including two chargeoffs...My score is now 684 and I just bought a truck at a favorable interest rate...The credit union now shows my internal score with them to be 782 out of 800. This is what I call results."

"Thank you so much for your prompt professional and diligent work with my account. I have had your services for 7 months and I could say that in only a week you started to contact me via e-mail and keeping me up-to-date with your actions and efforts on my behalf. Now seven short months later all negative items have been removed. My credit score has increased in equal manner and I could honestly say I was never disappointed with your services. You are truly angels in the credit world for those of us that struggle with bad credit history due to unexpected circumstances like lay-offs and illnesses and etc. My husband and I are looking at the opportunity of buying our first house ever. We are being offered good interest rate loans because of all your hard work on our behalf. I have already recommended your Firm to a co-worker and others that I had shared my credit woes with."

"I've been a customer with Lexington Law for some time getting my credit fixed. You've helped me clean up the snags in my credit history. It used to be when I went to get a loan they'd charge be between 16 to 20 percent interest. A few months back, due to my credit being clean, I was able to get a used car loan for under 8%. That amounted to over $100 a month in interest savings. I was also able to purchase 5 acres of land and have been approved for a construction loan to start building a house... Thank you all..."

"I am amazed at our success on my case! You know and I know that I could have not have done it myself by "working with the credit reporting companies." Done so much in such a short time. I still have a few negative items left show no mercy and demand removal! As of this date from my start date, you have removed a total of 31 negative items from my files!!"
