We all know that having collections on your credit report will drop your credit score. So how can you remove them? Here are the ways you can have collections removed from your credit report:
1. Pay the debt off
Now, the most important thing to remember is before you pay the collection debt off, negotiate with the creditor to have the negative item removed from all three of your credit reports. Get this in writing, because words mean nothing.
2. Settle the debt
Even better than paying the debt off in full, is to settle the debt for less. This takes some time to negotiate, especially if you want them to also remove the negative item from your credit reports.
3. Dispute directly with the credit bureaus
Getting your reports from annualcreditreports.com gives you direct access to the credit bureaus, and if you feel the collection is unfair or on your credit report in error, then dispute it directly in your own account!

4. Lastly, you can do like I did:
Simply call Lexington Law and let them do it for you. I don’t like spending all my time becoming an expert in something that for a low monthly fee, someone can do for me.
So just call this number and talk to them for 10 minutes about *your* credit report and see what they can do for you.
